About Curate

CURATE is more than just a website. CURATE has been created as a defined space for a collection of invitations.

Through CURATE, we hope to offer ideas, reflections, wonderings + joy & to share thoughts, projects, things people have been creating and just some good stuff that we love. Our evolving collection simply aims to be a series of invitations. Inviting you to something deeper, something new, something challenging, something joyful, or just simply – something.

We aim to take care of these invitations and the collection that grows. And we hope that something offered here may help you to take care of too. Care of yourself, those around you and the world we live in.

CURATE (VERB): to carefully choose, arrange, and present different items in order to get a particular effect.

From Latin curatus, past participle of curare “to take care of”

My name is Issy and I love finding connections between people, ideas & possibilities, bringing information together,
creating
and traveling the world [when we can].*

I prefer a world where we encourage one another to introduce ourselves explicitly by stating some of the things we love, rather than just simply what we do. When you begin to know what someone loves, that’s when you begin to find out who someone really is.

Celebrating the stuff we love is really what CURATE is about.

I hope CURATE can offer a space to share, explore and embrace the stuff we love. It may not seem groundbreaking, but it is about embracing depth and where it collides with our humanness.

Our topics aim to explore some of the most fundamental parts of being human. When we post content on CURATE, we assign it to a topic. Ultimately, these are the homes to our evolving collection and have a specific theme or intention in mind.

Cultivate

This topic is about things that help us grow + change, things that add something to our lives. It is about our being in the world and about our becoming [who we really are].

Unify

This topic is about making connections [with each other & between ideas] and bridging the gaps that create distance. It's about seeking unity. It's about acknowledging our uniqueness and at the same time, our basic human need to be connected to others.

Rest

This topic is about encouraging the celebration of rest. It's about exploring the art of slowing down, of stopping, of giving 'doing' a break so we can just 'be'. It's also about how sometimes things rest with us, we have responsibilities or opportunities to take care of.

Ask

This topic is about asking questions. Exploring the things we've been pondering, the things going on around us, the ways we've been challenged, the possibilities for the future.

Thank

There is much evidence to show the power of being grateful and the way it can transform our lives. This topic aims to share some of the things we are thankful for & ways you can foster this important practice.

Experience

Experience is both the knowledge + wisdom we gain over time and the things in life that make us who we are - the things we'll never forget. This topic showcases experiences - encouraging you to live yours too.
